However, the father of Parker Stevenson,
an investment advisor, looked doubtfully at the whole
entertainment business, and although Parker Stevenson
appeared in a few play productions at Brooks School he
had no intention of becoming an actor. Parker Stevenson
graduated from Brooks Prep school in Massachusetts and
then studied architecture at Princeton. Although Richard
Parker was his real name, he couldn't use it because another
actor already had that name registered with the Screen
Actors Guild. When he suggested Richard Stevenson, there
was an actor with that name also, so Parker, as he's now
known in the business, settled on Parker Stevenson, the
name which he now prefers. Parker Stevenson became a huge
teen idol when he starred in the hit television series
The Hardy Boys alongside teen heart-throb Shaun Cassidy.
Parker Stevenson also has a hugely successful television
career in hit shows such as "Baywatch" and "Falcon
Crest". Parker Stevenson is divorced from actress
Kirstie Alley ("Cheers") and has two children.
