When he was a pre-teen, Shaun Cassidy
(from Hardy Boy fan fiction movie) started a band called
"Every Mothers Dream" while his mother and half-brother,
David Cassidy, were both starring in a musical TV sitcom
called "The Partridge Family" (1970). Shaun
Cassidy asked his mother if he could guest star in a few
of the "Partridge Family" episodes. She refused
because she wanted Shaun Cassidy to stay concentrated
on his schooling. Shaun Cassidy did however, appear as
part of the chorus in many musical theatre productions
and played in a short-lived punk band named "The
Longfellow" before his parents transferred him to
a private school in Beverly Hills. Shaun Cassidy did finally
have a chance to star with his mother as James Preston
in a summer stock stage musical production of "On
A Clear Day You Can See Forever" to get a taste and
understanding of acting. In late 1976, he signed up with
agent Ruth Aarons and played Christopher Wentworth Hewlitt
in a short independent film called Born of Water (1976).
After that he successfully landed a role as Joe Hardy
on the hit show based on the Hardy Boy fan fiction book.
